Carroll School
Storrow House and Classroom Building
Lincoln, MA
The Storrow House, a historic brick building at the center of the Carroll School campus was renovated to incorporate new classrooms, library and learning center. A new wing was added to increase classroom space, provide handicap access to all floors and create a gateway to the school's campus. The building's central location inspired the “belly button" door surround.

The 20,000 square foot classroom building was designed with a steel structural system and double loaded corridor so interior classroom can easily and cost effectively be reconfigured. The building sits into the hillside reducing the thermal load. At the lower level is a large multipurpose room with stage for theatrical productions. Oversized windows provide generous light into the interior spaces.
